This program is designed for children birth to when they begin to read independently. It is meant to encourage life-long reading habits. Through the Terryville Public Library’s summer reading program you have the opportunity to discover great new books, learn about and do interesting new things, and win awesome prizes just for reading regularly!

How it works: Complete missions,  keep track of the time you spend reading, or do a combination of both. Stop by the library to receive a ticket for mission you complete and/or every hour of reading. You must complete all the activities in a mission to earn a ticket. Get five extra tickets if you complete all of the missions in one week. Get an up close and personal look at the prizes you could win in the downstairs display case at the library. Each ticket is a chance to win one of the prizes in our end-of-the-summer drawing!

We’re also offering a broad selection of events including weekly storytimes, STEAM events with Imagine Nation, Sensory Play, Family Reading Fort Night, an End of Summer Celebration Touch a Truck and more! Earn one extra ticket for every event you attend. All of our events are FREE to enjoy! Terryville Public Library is a great place to be during the summer!!

This program is designed for teens age 13 to 17 to encourage life-long reading habits. 

Every book you read is worth 1 point (any form: print, audio or e-book) and 1 entry into our grand prize raffle for one of three $50 gift cards.

Your goal for the summer is 15 points! 

(As a bonus:  Every library program you attend during the summer is also worth 1 entry into our grand prize raffle.)

Once you've earned enough points you'll receive a completion certificate you can print and share!

The adult summer reading program starts on Saturday, June 20! To participate, read a book or take part in any library event. Log your participation,* and you will be entered to win a gift certificate supporting one of our local restaurants or other small businesses!

It doesn’t matter how you read; choose an e-book, download an audiobook, or read physical books.
